Achieve your personal and professional goals

Siobhain Whitty

Since mid-2015 I have been working independently as a coach with my own practice, Blue Willow Coaching. The decision to resign from full time work to pursue coaching took a bit of courage but I don’t regret a thing – I value and love my work and I am learning constantly which is thoroughly enjoyable.

With a background in International HR in the oil and gas business, I had a good insight into professional coaching but hadn’t appreciated how powerful it could be until I started my coach training in 2010. I saw what a difference coaching could make to someone’s working or personal life – usually both – and I was hooked; I view coaching as the way to build and strengthen the self-awareness needed to live life to the full.

Since then I have qualified as a professional coach and I provide Leadership and Life Coaching services to corporate and private clients through my own coaching practice. I also work in partnership with others as an Associate Coach.

In general, I work with people who feel stuck in their personal or professional lives, or who see choices and decisions ahead of them and need support to decide – what’s the right way for me to go? – or who want to change something, but aren’t sure where to start.

I also coach leaders in the workplace to strengthen and develop their people skills or in making transitions to new roles or phases in their careers.

Having been an expat myself, I have a particular interest in coaching people to deal with the challenges of living and working abroad – the impact of changes on career, role, identity, environment, family life etc – and to take action to make the changes they want to see.

A common theme with all of my clients is a desire to make a change and to identify what they really want – from work and life as whole – so that they make decisions based on what’s most important for them.

Throughout my life, I’ve worked with easy people and also challenging people. I’ve been a team member, team leader and a line manager. I’ve worked in corporate centres, business teams and out in the field. Like you, I’ve had great times, tough times, made mistakes, been successful and above all, I’ve learned a lot about myself and others along the way. All of this tremendous experience is a strong foundation for my work as a professional Coach.

My coaching style is calm and supportive whilst also being challenging and thought provoking. I approach coaching from the “inside out”, supporting people to understand and develop their inner selves first in order to maximise their outer impact. I coach to strengthen self-awareness, enabling clients to understand the influence that values, emotions and behaviours can have and to support them in establishing their own goals for actions that can lead to lasting change.

I am certified with the International Coach Federation (ICF) which is committed to maintaining and promoting excellence in coaching. As an ICF Coach I have agreed to practice the ICF core competencies and pledge accountability to the ICF Code of Ethics (www.coachfederation.org).

You are very welcome to contact me to find out more about the coaching services I offer – with absolutely no obligation to follow up.
